I would like to teach the middle school students the importance of handwashing and how germs are on every surface they touch. By doing this hygiene activity using glo germ and black lights, they can see how handwashing can decrease germs and sickness. Some students will shake hands and high five after glo germ is applied. Once the group has all done this the black light will be used to see where all of the "germs" have gone. This will be followed by washing hands with soap and water to then see the germs disappear. I would like these students to use the kit to also teach a group of elementary students about the importance of handwashing also by using the glo germ and black lights to show clean versus dirty hands. This would be a good project for our medical club students to use for teaching others.
