In our class, we use Gatorade, chips, and candy to help motivate our students to do well in class. At the end of every period, my co-teacher and I pick one student as our "MVP" (Most Valuable Player). The student who is selected as MVP is one who played fair, showed good sportsmanship, was safe and respectful. We do our best to pick a different student each class so everyone has a chance to earn a reward. This has really helped our class in terms of behavior and transitioning and has lead to better learning for our students. My co-teacher and I usually fund these projects with money from our own pockets. Our gym is also in need of dry erase boards. On the dry erase boards we will use for writing our class goals and I can statements. We will post questions for our students to answer to help with assessments and progressing in physical and health education content.
