Mrs. Neill, can we go outside today? Every Monday, my 7th graders want to learn in our school’s courtyard. Our last unit, Texas’s first people, was a huge hit. The students pretended to be archeologists and built replicas of Native American shelters using everyday materials and ingenuity. Much to my surprise, they absolutely loved being outside, playing with mud, and getting to be kids in the warm El Paso sun. Help me continue to make history come to life for them by transforming our neglected courtyard into a functional and safe outdoor classroom this year. We are asking for picnic tables to serve as our learning centers in the new and improved courtyard.
