Flexible seating provides choices for comfort for my firsties. The choice of flexible seating allows for problem solving and self-directed learning opportunities too. I've found that most of my students choose wisely when provided the opportunity to choose their seating. They're engaged more when they're comfortable. Imagine the joy of being able to be choose where to be comfortable at school while reading! Currently, my students have the option of either reading at their table or on the carpet. Providing them with comfortable seat choices of where they can read and collaborate around the classroom will help thier engagement. The seating would be perfect for practicing Reader's Theaters too!
