Many of our students have speech impairments due to challenges with receptive and expressive communication. The Lego stem activities will provide students with opportunities to enhance their social skills, communication, language skills, fine motor and self efficiency skills. These activities will be used within therapy sessions for speech or occupational sessions. We will also use these projects in small group lessons for environmental science and mathematics. The build your emotions activities will support our non verbal students within social emotional lessons and speech sessions. Our students will find creative ways through building and problem solving as a team to play different roles and develop social skills. Through these experiences and engaging activities not only will our students further their physical, social and emotional development, they will become life long learners, team players and problem solvers.
