This year I was awarded a grant through my school district to begin using flexible seating in my classroom. I was fortunate enough to purchase some items to get started but would love to continue to add to my collection. These items will allow my students to move their bodies all while staying seated/standing. Research shows that students can focus better and are more productive when given opportunities for movement in their day. An uncomfortable student is a distracted student. Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive. This type of seating also gives them some choice and control over their learning environment.
