The requested seating materials will allow my students choices of seating so they have freedom to move about while they are concentrating on reading and writing assignments in the classroom. Being able to move about helps children learn better and stay concentrated on their tasks, which will help them become even better readers and writers. Research shows that children learn critical thinking and problem-solving skills through movement. These materials will support them by providing movement that helps them make connections between what they know in English and the new words/ideas they are learning in Spanish. The movement will also reduce who are restless and need to move. Giving my students the choice of types of seating will improve the learning of all.
