Students use whiteboards with different colored dry erase markers to conduct research every week in my classroom, especially with writing development activities. Using a thinking on your feet approach, students work in partnerships to small groups to brainstorm and plan responses to essential questions. The whiteboards allow the students to use the books and Chromebooks for research and allow me to see exactly who has been contributing and what they are doing from a distance. Then, they take their research to complete prompt analysis forms before writing their final assessments. The challenge is that we deplete our dry erase marker and paper supplies with the frequent use. By donating to our project, you will help them to focus on the priority of learning and their skills development. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether the materials are available.
