This spring our after school program will be exploring a theme unit on ocean and sea life. We have activities and projects lined up for every subject area. Students are going to research ocean life and write a report for ELA, read about ocean life for reading, graph fish sizes for math, make maps of the oceans and seas for social studies, compare and contrast oceans and seas in science and make art projects of fish and ocean life. We would really like to take our students to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago Illinois as a accumulating event at the end of our studies. Many of the students I work with have never left the city of Milwaukee, let alone the state. This field trip would be one they will never forget! We fund-raised to pay for the buses but do not have the funds to pay for admission. Could you please give our students this unforgettable field trip?
