I will be the first school counselor in the elementary school. In order to provide a calming, welcoming environment for my students, I would like to add a couch, some comfy bean bag chairs and a nice area rug that will help them feel happy when they come to talk to me. I am asking my district to supply the rug and games, I will buy the bean bag chairs myself, and I am hoping to get a couch donated through this project. This will be essential to creating a safe space in our elementary school. Many times students are struggling in class and have a difficult time controlling their behavior. Having a calm space to come to, will help support the entire student body. Please help be complete my vision for my counseling office.
