Please help me provide my students with the tools necessary to improve their social emotional and technological skills! With the use of fidget toys, my students will be able to move their fingers to control their bodies and focus their learning to grow their brain! The squishy finger toys will allow them to interact with texture in a calming way in order to refocus their attention. This will especially be beneficial for my students who need extra focusing assistance during their first year of school. Mindfulness is very important to me as it teaches my students to identify and self regulate their emotions. The liquid motion timers are an excellent tool for my students to calm down with when feeling emotional as it allows them time to focus their energy on the draining bubbles to be able to rejoin class successfully! By reading the book, "My Magic Breath: Finding Calm Through Mindful Breathing", I can teach my students to control their breathing in order to be calm and collected for kindergarten. The sand timers will also help my specific students be mindful of how much time they have left when working on activities or calming their bodies. As I incorporate technology throughout my students' learning activities, I want them to be able to express their learning through a variety of ways. One way that my students can continue to show their knowledge is through their voice. The handset phones will allow my students to record their activities on iPads without the noise of the other learners. In addition, the charging ports and cords will allow my students to use flexible seating throughout the classroom to work in a way most comfortable to them. I am very excited to begin my first year teaching with these helpful new tools!
