Many of the 100 students who I service need some pretty basic supplies. Granted, we don't have all of the students back face-to-face, but after January, all students will be face-to-face. The students show up without crayons, markers, pens, pencils, folders, spirals/composition books, sticky notes, and hand-held sharpeners. Because of the pandemic, we are not allowed to share supplies or share common equipment like electronic sharpeners. They are also are in need of more specific COVD-19 supplies like bottles of hand sanitizer. Because we use school-supplied laptops for virtual and face-to-face instruction and evaluation, earbuds are essential. However, the majority of the students don't show up to school with any earbuds or, if they do, the earbuds often break after a short period because the parents can afford only the cheapest of earbuds. Many of our students have accommodations that allow them to use the interactive reader option where stories and assignments are read to them by the computer. This is why the earbuds are so crucial. Also, I use my printer at home to print so many things for the students. Granted many assignments are done electronically, but there are always things to be printed. Finally, I want to be able to reward students for completing their work, reaching self-established goals, and winning educational games we play to reinforce skills. They like chapter books, cool journals, and gel pens. All these supplies I can not provide but these precious students deserve them all! Please consider donating so we can equip our students with Yearly Essential Supplies. Please join the Y.E.S. Club! Thank you!
