My students are highly motivated by using technology and would benefit from being able to use programs that specifically target reading and math skills. My students often read at least two grade levels below average, and need specialized instruction in reading to close that gap. With the use of technology, we are better able to address those gaps with specialized reading programs on the Chromebooks. We also have math programs that focus on math fluency, another area my students struggle with. They will be able to improve their addition, subtraction, and multiplication fluency using those programs. I also plan many interactive, collaborative lessons using Google classroom for science and social studies. My students enjoy completing projects on the computer and tend to gain more information when technology aids their comprehension, such as using text to speech options or text on their grade level. This allows them independence, while still providing them with the differentiated materials that they require to learn.
