As a new teacher, when I first came into my classroom, I noticed how hot it was and that our school doesn't have air conditioning. This would make it difficult for any learner to achieve what they need to. I want my students to be comfortable and healthy. Providing a healthy cool environment where students can learn and grow is a top priority of mine. It is difficult for students to learn in an unhealthy, hot classroom. Our classroom is located on the top floor of our school and as we know, heat rises. Fifth graders will come in from recess sweaty, hot, and unwilling to listen and learn. Having this portable swamp cooler in the classroom will help them to cool down, be healthy, and give me their best attention. It will be nice to move the cooler around to ensure that all students are keepin' cool in our hot school.
