As a student, I learned best with visual and hands-on experiences. This is a learning style I feel my students learn best as well. Through my CTE Agriculture Explore class, I want my students to have fun while learning. I have the opportunity to bring my lessons alive with hands-on activities. As a new teacher in a new program, I am expanding my curriculum content to provide materials to provide that hands-on experience I thrived off of in school. My students are building their agricultural knowledge and are gaining an understanding where their food and products come from. Majority of my students do not live on a farm or have that prior agricultural knowledge. I teach my students the basics to agriculture and offer experiences they may not get outside of my class. Through the plant science materials I requested, my students can get that hands-on experience and actually see how their food is made. The floriculture supplies will supplement FFA content integrated into classroom instruction.
