The students will check out backpacks filled with games, books, literacy and math activities that they can do at home with their families. Many of my families do not have books in the home and this lending literacy backpack program would help with this. I am compiling games, books, literacy activities and math activities in donated backpacks that my students may check out. This will help prepare my students for Kindergarten by getting literacy in the homes and helping to educate the parents on how they can continue to be their child's first teacher. I look forward to the excitement that the students will have when they can check out books to read at home.
