My students tend to have focus and behavioral issues, and I want them to be successful in school. They need to have options, and room to move, in order to help their brains work to their fullest potentials. I want to introduce various types of flexible seating, see what works, and go all out to make this classroom a welcoming space! Flexible seating helps students succeed. Adults get to choose their spaces, so why can't students? I had one particular student who refused to participate, until I let her sit on the windowsill. She appreciated the respect given to her individuality, and this translated to success in the classroom.
