I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter, We Were Here, and Mexican Whiteboy are all novels which follow Latinx teenagers as they make major life choices. This is perfect topic to explore as students are starting high school and trying to figure out who they are and who they might become. We want to offer students lots of choice so that they can find a character who interests them and a story that will captivate them. Young readers need practice choosing books to fall in love with!
