My students are academically gifted but come from a high poverty school and don't always have the opportunities to motivate and encourage their talents. Many of my students excel at writing and their own publishing center would reinforce the writing process, especially editing! I would like them to start a new section in our school library called "student authored books". This would provide my students the experience of writing and seeing their work in print, while providing other students a new genre of books to read in our library.
