So often in my classroom students have a library with either books that are too advanced or not challenging enough. It’s hard for them to find that “just right” book. (And not to mention, most of the books in our library are pretty worn down). A leveled library is so important for young learners. Students will not only be able to choose different books that match their interests, but with these sets they will now be able to read books that match their current skill level of reading. This will allow for independent reading times as well as structured intervention times to be more beneficial to each individual reader. I have chosen book sets that meet the average reading levels of first grade students throughout the school year.
