Items needed are to be used in small groups, whether it be at an academic learning center, on the ground during dramatic play, or in our class sensory bins for exploration. Flexible seating and group activities help students to problem solve and address communication needs while requesting items they need from peers and adults. Activities are specifically chosen to address IEP goals such as sequencing, fine motor development, and developing social-emotional skills. Providing flexible seating allows for students to engage in activities with an outlet to address motor and sensory needs a child may have. Students with and without Individualized Education Plans can benefit from these accommodations and modifications to the classroom environment.
