In order to become emergent readers, my Busy Bees need the appropriate resources to develop phonological and phonemic awareness. These tools will be used in our listening area which we currently do not have. As students are in different centers during Reader's Workshop, the listening area will be there to differentiate learning and to allow students students who are auditory learners look at their learning in a different aspect. I have included rhyming books because that is the very first step in phonological awareness. My Busy Bees are eager to start reading and by having these resources allows them to take the necessary steps in order to blossom into skilled readers.
