This project will allow my students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. My students have not had success (yet) in a traditional classroom so why could I expect them to do their best in traditional classroom seating? I know you may be thinking: “I sat in a wooden desk in traditional rows with a classroom size of 40. I did fine.” Research shows that this is no longer true. If a change in seating options will motivate students to do their best, why not? All students, especially these ones who have had a tough learning experience and mostly a negative view of the educational system in the few years that they have been in school deserve this! The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. My goal is for my CUBS to be productive and successful individuals and future leaders in society. I know that flexible seating along with high expectations and a genuine concern for each student will help make this true!
