As I am a first-year teacher I need a lot of supplies. However, the most important school supplies I need for my students to have a successful school year are sensory-friendly objects. My students have very significant sensory needs and require frequent sensory input to be successful. Students with autism spectrum disorders and communication disorders have individual sensory needs that must be met. Help me provide my students with a sensory-friendly calm corner. The bean bag chairs will provide my students with sensory input for their whole bodies. The sensory objects will allow me to make sensory bins for each student. Students will use sensory bins to help them focus during instruction or provide them with a sensory-friend break. The sensory bin and bean bag chairs will be located in the calm corner of the classroom. Students will be able to access the "Calm Corner" whenever they feel they need more sensory input.
