These seating options will help create a positive environment and differentiate according to learning profiles, interests and needs. For example the wobble chairs are great for students who need movement during independent work. They will help students with special needs and also foster collaboration and engagement. First graders love seating on the floor and sharing spaces with a partner. The cushions are great for independent reading and math time and also during teamwork activities. The couch will be amazing for our reading corner because it creates a warm place to enjoy their favorite books. Research shows that providing a flexible learning environment fosters engagement and improves learning because students are more comfortable.
