This is my second year of teaching. I honestly didn't imagine the amount of money I would put into my classroom in the first couple of years. I want my students to have the necessary materials that are needed to learn each day, but as you can imagine, it gets pretty expensive when you've got 32 students! We are almost a 1:1 classroom! (we're so close!!) With that being said, we need headphones to go with our technology. The students are often on websites or applications that promote and extend their learning each day. Some of those websites/apps include Epic, Khan Academy, Freckle, and Zearn. Imagine 32 student iPads all on different websites and the potential distraction it causes to others around them. The use of headphones will promote more focused, individualized learning. It will also help me, as I often do intervention groups during technology time, and background noise can be difficult to teach through.
