Students are constantly practicing and learning new skills in my physical education classes. Like most P.E. Elementary school teachers in Florida, we are not provided with the luxury of a gym. All activities and exercises are done on concrete floors in an outdoor setting. The use of mats and soft frisbees will allow me to implement safe exercise and movement into my daily lessons. Students love a challenge and I love helping them reach their goals. I find that placing my students in circuits that rotate to different activities motivates and keeps the energy levels high. Students are able to encourage and help one another throughout the activities placed in the circuit. The mats will be used for exercises such as sit-ups, push ups and yoga poses. The frisbees will be used to enable students to work on eye and hand coordination skills without fear of being injured.
