My student, many times, will come to visit my classroom if they are getting stressed, unfocused, or just need a break from their classroom. Besides academic support, as the only Special Education teacher on campus, I also provide sensory breaks for any student who needs it. Students can come to my room to sink into a big chair to relax or lay a weighted blanket on their body to regain control of their physical needs. Many times just sitting in a chair that surrounds the student can get them to sit still long enough to get back on track and finish their work.
