Daily 5 can be tricky to implement when students are not reading. Within the components of daily 5 is a station where the kids are reading independently. My students love the books in my library that are part of a series. It makes it easier to keep their interest in what they’re reading when it’s part of a series. I want to keep them interested in what they’re reading so they don’t lose their motivation to read. When the kids enjoy what they’re reading, it becomes easier for them to stay reading for the full 15 minutes, and it’s easier to comprehend what they’re reading.
