I love taking a text and applying it across all subjects. Being able to study books using STEAM bins increases student engagement, not only in the activity, but in the stories. First, the students will read the books and learn about the challenge the characters face. Then using these STEAM materials, students will try other ways to solve the problems presented to the characters. After the students will write about and discuss how else the characters could have solved the problem. Students will have more opportunities to fall in love with books by taking the stories off the pages and into their hands.
