I will be using art projects to make leaning about Social Studies from 1865 until present day. They enjoy creating their own master pieces. I will have 60 students this year and don't have any art supplies. The will be painting images from WWI. Using pastels to create their own propaganda posters from WWII. They will paint on canvases and display them in the media center for all the school to see. Drama will also be included for them to act out time periods we study. I will shop around for costumes and props for them to use. The students enjoy reading current events from our TIME for Kids once a week. The conversations about life are priceless! We read them together and discuss how the events effect their lives. TIME for Kids even has a section about finances and money. Fifth graders are the perfect age to learn about the economy. We thank you for your help in creating a wonderful year for my students.
