Students need to be able to focus on the activity at hand. Sometimes, the best way to do this is by getting the students out of their seats and encourage them to have discussions about the content on the rug. I would love for the students to have somewhere comfortable to come together while listening to read alouds, completing learning centers, and working on math fluency activities. The students have gone a year without rugs in the classroom and once we get the approval to replace them, I would love to supply one to my students!
