These materials will provide Dance students with the opportunity to embrace creativity through movement and create healthy relationships with each other. Before beginning instruction in dance content, my focus for the first couple of months of school is to 'set the stage' of how to function in a dance space. Yoga mats and yoga blocks provide a more pleasant experience while practicing gentle stretches to prevent injury while increasing confidence. The ice breaker balls will give students beginner to advanced conversation tools to practice initiating and maintaining conversations with others. These ice breakers will benefit both regular and special education students, especially those that are typically shy. For our English Language Learners, the combination of movement and conversation will help their confidence in practicing their listening, speaking and writing skills.
