Having a large carpet will allow my students to escape the rigidity of their desks and join together for story time, math lessons, and hundreds of other things. I can see them sitting there now, eyes wide, listening to a classic fairy tale! It will also be a gathering place to talk and solve problems that may arise....a place to celebrate successes.....a place to create a family type bond that I long to provide. Since the carpet depicts the 50 states, it can aid in that capacity as well. We can play games that require students up and active! What better way to learn, right?
