As we all know, all kids are different. They grow in different ways, develop at different times and learn in different ways. In order to ensure that all learners are being reached, I am trying to create a classroom environment where all students feel comfortable and valued. Where their differences are accommodated and their strengths shine through. Using different seating options in the classroom for students allows students to move freely around the room to a place where they will be the most successful. Movement creates excitement and excitement promotes engagement. Using a lower teacher table to meet with students gives them a safe and engaging place to meet with me. I can work more closely with students to get their full engagement. Imagine the excitement of a child walking into a room full of choices and options!
