These books will spice up and supplement art lessons I have done for years, and some will be the main teaching tool used to inspire a new project. Regardless, each book listed will be utilized for an art project. For example, "The Great Wave: A Children's Book Inspired by Hokusai" will be connected to an entire Japanese art unit. "The Goat in the Rug" will be an introductory story for a multicultural art lesson on weaving. I want my Art Room to continue being a hands-on sanctuary and I believe utilizing books will make that happen. Books and art... I cannot think of a better combination!
