These materials will help make a difference in my students' learning! Since I am still only a third year teacher, most of my classroom library has relied on "older" teacher donations and used books that are limited and often bring boredom to my students. Since these are materials that will be used in our classroom library students will be given the opportunity to interact with them during school hours and bring them home to share with their families. In the second grade, students are really gaining momentum on their reading enjoyment and it becomes a little bit easier for them. Due to the pandemic, there are many students that I am working with to make more strides. We will use these materials to help with their reading comprehension and then they will take them home to reinforce with their families. The desired outcome is to teach and use these materials at school that students will be excited to go home and share with their families. One of my favorite things about reading, is the excitement I see in their faces when they pick up a book that is about a topic that they love! Their eyes light up. This is what I want to achieve with the books I have selected.
