The majority of my students do not have access to a printer at home and the few who are able to use the local library don't have access to quality, color, or picture printing. As we are a project-based learning program, the inability to print student projects in color hinders students' ability to truly demonstrate what they have learned in its full splendor. Our students at our middle school have expressed their dismay at our school's lack of technology. Throughout our Performing Arts Magnet and Marine Science Academy, student-centered research projects need technology like this to allow for the student's individual artistic and imaginative abilities to further develop and shine in full color. Most importantly, having an accessible color printer will allow our students to feel proud of their academic work.
