Thank you for taking the time to review my Donors Choose Request! I am so appreciative and thankful to have the opportunity to explain the needs of the space students will be using. My hope is to create a safe place where students can come during the day to regulate their emotions, learn social/emotional skills, obtain coping tools and to practice mindfulness techniques that will help them to center themselves and return to their classroom. There is a large amount of space to work with students but no tools and items for them to learn and interact. Many of the requested items would be used directly by the students. Additional items, such as the workbooks, would be used to teach different skills to the students or a short curriculum for teachers while in their classrooms. The only items in the room currently are a few tables, plastic chairs and a few fidget items. I would love to have more tools to work with students, more items for them to practice self-regulation and mindfulness techniques and a space they will feel safe and comfortable.
