My students life success involves a lifetime of eating and making good decisions with the money they earn from working. Students will be taught menu planning and healthy food preparation, along with how affordable cooking at home can be, rather than drive through dining. I have had several students who spend nearly their whole paycheck at fast food drive-throughs because their families have never modeled cooking at home and/or eating meals they prepared themselves. Often, students are also living in apartments and may not have access to a traditional kitchen. I would like to show students that they can even provide meals for themselves with a toaster oven and microwave.
