We are requesting cushions, stools, magnetic blocks, bulletin board set and a book of weather poems. These materials will allow me to create lesson plans based on the different culturally rich literature we read together in our classroom. There is a wide range of reading skill levels in our class and so I need to be able to integrate learning opportunities for all my students. There need to be choices (including choice seating) that will encourage creativity and allow the students to branch outside of the norm and push the limits of their comfort zone. I want my students to use innovation and their creativity to take charge of their own learning. When allowing students to have choices in their learning they take accountability and challenge themselves. I want to create different stations throughout my classroom that will encourage the students' independence while still helping them learn. Every child learns differently and it is my job as a teacher to find what works for my students.
