The materials will help my students learn how to communicate effectively, and be able to share with others that have had the same experiences that they have experienced. Teens are one of the hardest populations to get to open up, these items will help me with doing so. Imagine having to tell your story to a room full of peers that you are in fear that will judge you. I need to be able to break the ice, and get my students comfortable with sharing their issues, so that they can be taught proper coping skills. I hope to be able to instill in these teens ways to cope that are healthy, and to let them know they are not alone. The materials I have selected such as the cards or games, will be used in order to get the teenagers in my groups to open up. The learning outcomes will be teaching the students how to cope with issues they are or have went through.
