Our Elementary is a brand new school and we need to develop our social skills library. We have added Julia Cook social stories to our wishlist as well as other important books as the basis for a social skill library! The thirty five books I am requesting will be used to teach important social skills in the classroom teachers. The books will also be used for guidance counselor lessons and during small group instruction from the behavior teacher. Teaching these valuable skills is important in today's society where students often lack appropriate social skills. Students without good social skills don't have positive peer relationships with effects their enjoyment of school. If students do not enjoy school, they have more absenteeism which affects their academic success.
