Living in Iowa has it perks and downfalls. We are fortunate enough to experience all four seasons. With that, comes rain, thunderstorms, snow, ice storms, and extreme heat or cold. Because of the weather we experience, there are many days throughout the year that force us to be inside for our recess times. Currently, I have a very limited number of activities and games for my students to use during our inside recess times. My students are often found just sitting around waiting for their turn, or bored because all of the games and activities are already in use. Having this project funded would allow my students with an opportunity to use STEM toys during our indoor recess times. Most of the items I have requested require the students to think creatively. Because my students do not have a lot of games or activities at home, they would find great enjoyment from being able to play with good quality, educational toys while at school.
