Language learners need hands on materials and pictures. Content learners need multiple ways to learn. Games and other hands on experiences help both. I am learning alongside my students as I have not taught non-English speakers before. I enjoy and active and somewhat noisy classroom with loads of competition. White boards, sleeve protectors and laminated materials last longer and encourage movement and hands on experiences. I learn daily from my English language learners as well as my peer helpers, who often can explain a concept better to a fellow student.
