Many students who come to speech and language therapy have autism. These students learn best, in my opinion, through play therapy. In my therapy room, we do away with worksheets and dittos and learn through PLAY. Whether learning how to rhyme, or using expressive language skills to describe objects, these items will help my students reach their IEP goals in a fun and engaging way. For those students with sensory difficulties or just the ones who can’t sit still, these chairs will provide the kinesthetic movement they need to learn. Allowing them to wobble will help them stay them alert and engaged!
