Having a cozy library will make a difference in my student's lives because we spend a lot of time on the rug. I teach many of the comprehension skills that 3rd graders need to learn through read-aloud picture books. Also, having an organized library area will allow the kids to pick the books that are just right for their independent reading level. My morning meeting will also take place in this area. We build community, talk about our day, and work in pairs in this important part of our classroom. My students will look forward to spending time every day in their classroom library.
