These materials will allow students to build character, let off steam, and learn how to work out problems before they become physical. In my Health and Physical Education class, we concentrate on both the mental and physical, thus shaping both bodies and minds. Most of our students are with us due to involvement in physical altercations, so refocusing their energies and thought processes will allow them another outlet. Students cannot do simple exercises like sit-ups on a hard floor. They need mats. Our special population need very simple stress relief. All our students will benefit from the team-building that basketball offers.
