With the widespread use of technology in our classrooms and programs to help students become more effective learners, I am in need of our very own Google Chromebooks in our class. These Chromebooks will be used each day to help students participate in individualized math programs that will help each student to grow as Monarch 5th Grade Mathematicians in addition to completing research for our science projects. Monarch 5th Grade Mathematicians participate in math stations as well as science stations to help them enhance their learning: Having our very own set of Chromebooks for our class will help me to effectively create a schedule that will not hinder another teacher's instruction. One of the math programs that we use will create an individualized learning plan in order for my students to fill in gaps and grow. Having our own set of classroom Chromebooks for the stations will ensure each student gets the correct amount of time in order to grow successfully. There is a certain amount of time each student will need every week to be successful. In addition to math, my students participate in science stations. One of the stations is set up to participate in an activity on the Chromebooks. Various activities on the Chromebooks that we use for science: Study Jams, Weather Wiz Kids, National Geographic Kids, Flocabulary, and research activities. Having our own set of Chromebooks will allow me to be able to use them more often for science, instead of having to share with another teacher. My science students love to participate in science activities on the Chromebooks, especially when it comes to weather, ecosystems and the human body systems!! Enhanced visual, real-world knowledge obtained through research and fun learning sites, and achievement gaps in mathematics will be filled.
