My students have a dedicated spot created for their martial arts books in our fitness room, but they need your help getting those books. The books help our students learn about the people, history, and culture of martial arts. The books allow them to take what they learn during their fitness class and go further by immersing themselves in a way that only books can provide. My students want to understand more about what they are learning. Our school library does not have books on martial arts, sports, or fitness related topics. As a multi-aged classroom, I have limited age-appropriate resources for them to use. Children have to share the same limited books, and because of that, some students don’t get an opportunity to use the books that they want and need. By helping our students get the books that they need, you are helping them to grow as readers. You are also providing the tools they need for project-based learning. My students will love being able to have quick and easy access to a book that you helped to make a reality.
